Thank You For Reading.
After reading through some first blog posts of others, I’ve decide to write a quick WHO/WHY/WHAT post to provide some info. My name is Michael Denton, but most call me dentonmd or Mike D. Hard as I try, I’m not a Beastie Boy and I am not related to Nick Denton. I’ve always had mass respect for blogging as journalism, but I learned the TRUE power of the individual voice while working at crayon,LLC. I got to witness it first hand the thought leadership of folks such as Neville Hobson, Shel Holtz, Steve Coulson, and most importantly C.C. Chapman. CC has become my “Go-To-Guy” for all things I’m challenged by. He’s a constant reminder that friendship and community are more important to social media than any of the applications or the sites/networks. This blog bares the same initials as C.C. because of his constant Bitch Slapping me back into shape.- PUN INTENDED!!!! I’m not a strong writer and I don’t consider myself a thought leader but I do recognize solid ideas and I get total joy out of contributing comments to others thoughts- hence the blog tittle.
I’m following closely in the shoes of Youngie- aka Paull Young. He epitomizes the idea that friendship is of the utmost importance and I can’t tell you how much I admire his ability to cut the shit and know what’s legit and what’s not. He’s my partner in most crimes, and even better my fly-half. Through him I have had the opportunity to meet amazing people such as Constantin Basturea who has quickly become a close friend and a non-stop source of support and conversation. If you don’t know, CB has a great ability to see the truth in an issue and the sort of guy who will call you out anytime you try to deviate from it.
This blog is a complete learning experience for me. I’m attempting to teach myself everything. From the ins and outs of WordPress, to the respect and sociality that this arena requires. I’ve had to rely on the brains/experience of Melvin Rivera. He’s held my hand through the entire set up process of this blog. Again, a person who lives his life with respect, family, and friendship at the front of every decision he makes.
I’m testing waters here and trying to establish a voice/platform. I would appreciate any feedback constructive or otherwise. Thanks for stopping by. I’m down to meet as many people as I can, so feel free to hit me up on facebook, email, or even here. Having said that, I should tell you that I have a small problem with restricting myself and my online profile to anything other than who I am, but there will be much more about this sort of thing in the posts to come.

Mate I feel just as proud as I did the first time I saw you score a try on the Rugby field!
Knowing you so well in person means I look forward to your approach with your blog – but with your deep commitment to friendship and passion for your view of the space I’m sure it’ll rock.
I’ve also gotta say I blushed getting a mention alongside the likes of Chapman, Coulson, Holtz, Hobson and Basturea – idols of mine just as they are yours mate.
Rock On.

Mike, welcome to the blogosphere with you own place! Great to see you start with this.
You say you don’t consider yourself a strong writer. Well, this post tells me you’re pretty good with a natural voice. For a budding blogger, that’s a good start.
Keep testing the waters. That’s what I still do every day.
